Cancer Survivor

Fatigue, bone pain, hemmorage, nausea, diahrrea.

I’ve been on Gleevec for 3 weeks. the first week was no different than the previous ones, lots of fatigue, but that is from the leukemia. In the second week, I started having more pain and some diahrrea. The diahrrea cleared up in a few days but the pains got worse. By week three, I have a lot of bone pain. I can get around and i can work, but it hurts quite a bit to move and my legs (thighs) are the worst. I often wake up with pain and my fatigue is not improving.

I worked all day yesterday and then prepped our family room for painting. By the time I went to help my son with his chemistry homework, I couldn’t think clearly or retain anything that I read. Was it fatigue, or does Gleevec cause its own form of Chemobrain? Whatever,...I got up early this morning but had diahrrea and extreme fatigue. Went to bed and slept till 2:30. I still feel tired. Bleah. Still I feel very fortunate to be on this treatment. It was almost an accident that I was diagnosed at all. My blood tests are improving very quickly, but now I’m anemic.

About the avatar. “Able” the bear (bear able….get it?)has been my alterego for most of my adult life, so I decided to include him in the blog. Thanks to Jill for her feedback..I appreciate it.

Hye Bob! How is life treating you over there? doing any art work these days?
